Write. Don't worry about getting published. Also assume that all of your writing is awful and that you have to fix it. My biggest mistake EVER in writing was assuming someone would help me make my writing better. It's your responsibility. Your mission is to write the best you can, put it away for a month, and edit it. Make it better.
I usually write actively. I sit down in front of my work and skim it from the beginning to the last place I stopped writing. This allows me to catch little mistakes here and there every day. It's exhausting but it works.

I write 1000 words a day. Sometimes I miss a day or two but if I write, I write that much. You never get writer's blog if you prescribe tell yourself that you have to write that much no matter what.
