Orren Merton I'm not an expert on writer's block, since I rarely get it. It seems to me, writer's block usually comes from getting stuck on the "what" or "how." If you have a solid outline, treatment, or other kind of template, that helps with the "what." As far as "how," if you don't have the feeling for a given scene and you're beating yourself up about it, move on. Write "and this will be the great scene where I explain how the protagonist gets from here to there" or whatever, then come back to it.
Orren Merton For me, it's creating entire universes that don't exist and populating them with beings and stories.

2) Finish what you start writing
3) Write some more.
Orren Merton The second book in The Sedumen Chronicles, titled Lady Firebird.
Orren Merton I'd wanted to write a YA novel with an 18-year old protagonist for a long time; in fact I began one years ago but it didn't work. Around 2013 I started thinking in terms of spirits and demons and heroes, and it all just sort of came together in the Seduman Chronicles, the first of which, Firebird Alex, is available now.
