Maggie Lamar I don't tend to find the book - I let the book find me! I browse in bookstores (new and used) and see what strikes my fancy! Reading is one area I try not to over-plan!
Maggie Lamar I would probably go to Agatha Christie Land and be Hercule Poirot's sidekick. Even if he made fun of me constantly (which he totally would do in his Belgian way with his twinkling eyes), it would be worth it!
Maggie Lamar I like having no mask, no pretense, with my reader. I think being genuinely authentic in the "real world" can be very hard - so many things can cause us to cover up our true selves. But within the wrappings of the written word, it is so easy to be real. There is immense freedom. No gimmicks or games. Just honest authenticity.
Maggie Lamar The world of dating is an absolutely nutty place - and I got the idea for my most recent book while in the vortex of that nutty world. Writing Chase Me. Don't Chase Me. was a form of therapy as it helped me process all my experiences on the road to happily ever after. And it made me laugh. It made me laugh a lot.
