Michael Allen The hardest brushstroke on a new painting is always the first one. Just start writing. You don't have to know where the story ends up or how to make connections, you'll feel that out as you go. Get the first draft down, it can be terrible, then patiently rewrite. it's way easier to rewrite and edit than it is to build the whole story in your head before you start and then give doubts time to slip in.
Michael Allen A unique twist on a leadership book for new(er) managers. I've read a lot of business books, and they're great for people that like that kind of thing. I'm looking to dump some characters into an incredibly stressful environment that will focus their knowledge and turn it into action quickly, and hopefully show the reader how to take theoretical knowledge and make it into action.
Michael Allen A writing prompt from Reddit along the lines of "A child unwittingly makes an offering to a long forgotten god, who then appears to defend them." I liked it as a starting point but the premise to me was that gods are given strength by belief of followers. If i used that as my one "given" for the world in the story, everything else flowed from there.
