Amos Smith I was having tea with a friend and the idea came to me in a flash. It took me ten years to flesh out the original idea. What author Eknath Easwaren once said is true: "Good writing is 1 percent inspiration and 99% perspiration!"
Amos Smith I'm working on a book titled "Primordial Freedom: Meditations on Mystical Passages of Scripture," which is scheduled to come out in 2016.

Amos Smith To write well I need to be in a state of "flow." I have tinkered with a number of elements of my schedule that contribute to flow. I have found that two of the biggest factors are daily Centering Prayer meditation (I meditate at least 40 minutes per day) and morning runs every other day (I run 2 to 3 miles each time). I am the most inspired to write when I go on retreat (I take at least two mini-retreats per year for about 8 to 10 total days).
