Other than the fact that I witnessed a UFO event in the daytime skies over Los Angeles, nothing that occurs to me. I was not alone, and there were no reports in the UFO websites for that day, but my mate also witnessed it, and it lasted for nearly 1/2 hour. Detail: There was a "mother" ship, and several smaller ships that came and went from it. I have a science education, and am naturally skeptic, but I could not find a rational explanation for what I saw. Where one goes with a book plot? Well, maybe I'll come up with one sometime.

My absolute favorite couple is of course, my own -- Laura Bess Austin and Lije Grant, as first met in "Elsewhen". But otherwise, my current favorites are Sean King and Michelle Maxwell, created by David Baldacci. They are tough ex-CIA, but Michelle is the slob of the pair, and Sean is her exact opposite. In spite of this, there is a strong attraction between them. Classic opposites attract.

If I have several threads in my story, and I am stuck with one, I jump to another and follow it out. Eventually the other answer will come to me. It may not be what I originally wanted, but it sometimes is better. I don't outline. Maybe that would help, but it also can be constricting (for me).

I see you're a pantser just like me. It's much more exciting letting the characters throw surprises and come up with ingenious solutions, than decide the outcome in advance and somehow get your characters to conform to this outcome. I've read somewhere that the great master storyteller Stephen King is a pantser rather than a plotter, so we're in good company.

Excellent! I wondered about Stephen K. His books are very long, and I suppose that's a result of writing until you find you have something to say. Wit
Excellent! I wondered about Stephen K. His books are very long, and I suppose that's a result of writing until you find you have something to say. With him, of course, his journey is always riveting to read. Yes, I'm a proud pantser!

It may seem a smart-aleck answer, but I can do it anywhere, and I'm my own boss.

I am working on a sequel to ELSEWHEN, tentatively titled GABRIELLA'S BENCH.

I suppose I am a nerd. I have a talent for mathematics and science. It was understood when I was younger, that I would have a career in the sciences. But my direction took a sharp turn when I discovered acting in college. Nonetheless, my undergraduate major was math, and my Master’s thesis was on a subject in symbolic logic. The necessities of life, including having a handicapped son, kept me employed as a computer programmer in support of scientific projects. I spent several years at a radio astronomy site in New England. Later, my wife and I decided to take the plunge and make our way as actors. I started writing in California, as a member of the writers/actors group, Playwrights 6, where ELSEWHEN was first developed as a screenplay. It was inspired partly by my experiences as a scientific programmer and it became my first book.
