Oh, dear............I try not to label it that. I try to come at a project or a stuck part in different ways............by writing through it, or daydreaming the scene...or skipping along to a spot later in the story......or even taking a side road and hope I can get back on track eventually.

Hm. I'd have to say getting fan mail and making a connection through your words with total strangers who get what you intended. (Readers: If you finish a good book and wonder if you should send a note to an author, do it. You'll both feel good about it.)

Read everything and anything that interests you. Keep your eyes, mind, and heart open to new ideas. If you intend to write for publication, consider your readership. Make sure what you write has a message for them and fills a need. Also, grow a thick skin about your writing. You will have to make compromises. Rewriting is much harder than it sounds.

I have an idea for a story told from at least three points of view, but it will be a long one, if I ever start it, so I'm hesitating. It will have brand new characters, set in a brand new place, and I'll have to write it on my own. That's scary. Victoria and I are good friends, but we have finished our collaboration with Kim and PJ. We're not planning on any more long term writing ventures together. She's doing poetry and photo work and I'm pondering this saga idea.

I read something, see something, experience a reaction to something and wonder how it happened or why it happened... mostly it's feeling a question inside and wanting to answer it or explain it.

Lingering Shadows was the finale of our series and it had several lingering problems to tie up and a future to focus our protagonists toward.
