I step away from the page…go do something else and sometimes call someone and tell them a story about something that happened in my life. Somehow the act of stepping away loosens the cog.

Just write. Don't worry about grammar, spelling, punctuation or whether it makes sense. Just write….let the words spill to the keyboard or page. Look around your world, what do you see? Write vignettes, story tell and please don't share your work with anyone who is going to be critical. Sometimes that's an unconscious form of sabotage.
