My neighbor came by to return our house key - he had been taking care of our cat while we were on vacation - and for some reason he started telling my husband how his parents met and fell in love in a tuberculosis sanitorium when they were teenagers. I froze. I knew in that moment that I had my next book, and I immediately started writing notes on my laptop.

Now that my new novel, All That We Hide, is out, I have to spend enough time marketing it so that it sells well, so I'm holding out on starting my next book until the beginning of next year. I have so many ideas jotted down in my Notes app, but it's between two fiction ideas. I also have a book that I started years ago that I never finished. It was the first and only time I ever got writer's block. So, I'm thinking of revisiting and see if I can take it all the way this time around.
