Barrett At a medical convention, a doctor-friend and I stayed up late one night conjuring a unique medical mystery. I worked on the story for several years and loved every minute. Then in 2007 I took the Nanowrimo challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days. I plucked one character from my medical saga and started what eventually became "The Damaged Series" four books about her adventures in New Mexico
Barrett A story about distilling whisky in Scotland. A burned out sales rep is tasked with finding a unique small batch whisky. She struggles with an ambitious sales associate, an aging mentor, a senile distiller and his mysterious foreman, plus the daughter returned home to help with a secret.

Barrett Hands down--Jamie and Claire from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. The author was (and still is) able to portray authentic human beings with complex problems, authentic life issues, and incredible chemistry. The books carry us through decades of their lives including children, grandchildren, time travel and world travels. Diana's books were the first that inspired me to write and learn to tell stories.
Thanks for your question.

Barrett Hi Bunni, I'm happy to say it was released on Amazon and on Nook today. The Print version should be out in 2 weeks. Thanks for your note.
Barrett Working from home. I love the freedom and the quiet. When story is bursting to be free, I can spend as long as I want racing after the muse to capture the essence.
Then, when I think some sunshine and fresh air would be nice, I can walk out on the deck and look at the mountains. Life is good.
Barrett This is book 3 in the Damaged series which, I started in 2009. It began as an offshoot of a medical mystery that isn't published. I took a secondary character and decided to write a romance. Well...it turned out her PTSD took front and center, along with some serious interference from bad guys.
Book 4 is in the works for 2015.
