The Pandemic crisis revealed a personal writing oddity that had never been tested. After months of forced residency, mandated lockdowns, or what felt like home imprisonment, I discovered my writing progressing more smoothly whenever I wrote in crowded places like cafes, Barnes & Noble, or anywhere writers and readers usually congregated. But Coronavirus could care less, almost as if it took considerable pleasure watching us lose our writing passports to these noisy places which for many writers like me made all the difference.

1. If you're serious about your writing, then read more than you write.
2. Don't be afraid to take risks; do venture outside your genre and try something new.
3. If you're serious about producing top quality writing, then stay physically and mentally stay in shape! Daily.
4. If you think your just-completed first draft is a masterpiece, read it again. Two reasons:
a. Your first draft should never be your last draft.
b. The secret to top quality writing is re-writing.

Well, it feels like I've borrowed some real people from their lives that were linked to diverse cultures . They were reshaped to fit my characters dreams, friends, so they can help me tell my story.

Though rare, whenever I'm faced with writer's block, I often refer to my detailed outline. It helps to undo the mental clog that's causing the writing blockage. Right there at my fingertips my cognitive drain is accessing visual and written emergency writing tips that parachute me to a comfortable cushion that belongs to the 'aha' syndrome. On the other hand, If none of this works, it's time to have my break, and that's usually a good thing! It commences with a solid 20-minute workout.

The cause of my mother's passing on her death certificate was identified as 'pending!' There's still an ongoing medical dispute at Long Island's Mercy Hospital, whether a brain tumor or pneumonia may have been responsible for her untimely, youthful death. She was 32 years old on that mournful December 3, 1949. I was almost three months old! Her birthplace, however was not in dispute: Count Dracula's Transylvania, formerly Hungary, now Romania. My father's birthplace was listed as Baghdad, Iraq, perhaps a day's drive away from Alkosh, where his ancestry was rooted, and where exorcisms were commonly practiced....

Martha barely caught her breath flying away from an armed assailant wielding an arched sword, his black-patched eye gushing blood imitating angry, revenge-driven water punching its weight through a concrete dam that was preparing to call it quits. Only after the steel blade managed to bite a piece of her neck's throat did she realize she was hallucinating in her bedroom escaping from herself.

I would like to travel with a handful of environmental scientists to an unpolluted, pristine spot of the earth. I would need their assistance to help me preserve every living specie in its original form; in exactly the shape the earth was when it was entrusted to earthlings, often referred to as humans. I would spend more time listening, reading, writing and working with scientists to develop the technology that would cause any visitor to disappear, or beam out of our habitat if that individual tried to pollute using any product that wasn't biodegradable.

Piles of books that never seem to shrink because I really take my time. I'm always curious about other writers introducing unique styles. I am not in a rush. I say that because I give them three takes! My first time around, I read for pleasure. Second time, I read it with an author's eye. Finally, my third read is designed to summarize each chapter. This respect for the craft of writing is culminated with my favorite quotes; that's right, I copy those too.
