How do you feel about readers buying used books? I never gave it much thought until recently. I bought your first book from a used bookstore (loved it!) and then preordered Warning Order from Amazon. I'm getting the idea that being an author can be precarious.
Joshua Hood Being an avid reader is expensive- Believe me I know. I buy used books all the time and have since I was a little kid.
As a new author it is more about getting the word out so as long as someone is reading my books, I could care less where they get them from.
As for the business side- well as you said, it is precarious. I used to stress about things like that but realized pretty quick it would drive me nuts. As an author all I can control is what I put out, if I make a few bucks on it then that's cool, but my main concern is making sure I get better at the craft and leave the reader with a warm and fuzzy.

Hi Joshua. Re - Reading Warning Order on my phone (and planning to get the paperback soon). Question, the M1911 Zeus got as a brithday present. Who manufactured it? Wilson Combat? Les Baer? Springfield Armory? Or some big film like SIG or S & W?
Joshua Hood Interesting question. In the book I didn't have a particular brand in mind when I was writing. I think Mason told me that he bought one of the Mission 22 1911's from his old buddy Dalton Fury.

Hi Josh, I just wondered if you were giving copies of Clear By Fire? I haven't been able to track it down in my local shops and it sounds exactly like the type of adrenaline door kicking i'd love. Also I take my hat off to you for using your skills learned as a soldier and using them to write, as it's no easy task. Best of luck mate and be safe.

Hi Josh. I want to read your book, but first I'd like to ask for your opinion about Green Zone movie starring Matt Damon. This is not a provocation. As a foreigner I'd just like to find out what an American soldier thinks about entering US Army to Iraq in 2003. Was it right or wrong as a huge part of your nation thinks?

Hi Josh, just began reading. A question about the title. Is there any thematic, real life or plot relevant significance to the phrase "Clear By Fire"? Thanks. I'm enjoying the book. Up to the part where Ms Hart is getting herself out of a jam and doing great. Once I've finished, I'll have a review up on goodreads soon enough.
Joshua Hood Clear by Fire is an Infantry term which basically means to clear out a hostile objective.
