I am writing books for the middle-grade I Escaped series. I love survival stories. Probably because in theory I love exciting, dangerous places but actually, in real life, am a wimp. The most recent book is set in one of my favorite places. The Amazon Jungle. The book is "I Escaped Amazon River Pirates." It's based on a crazy true story.

Hi there - The advice that helped me most was: "Read. Research the topic. Make notes. Then come up with the outline and write a rough draft. If some scene is working well, write that scene, or else just outline. Then when you have finished the rough draft, go back and write the book. It's as if, when you finally write the book, you have a friend helping you along."
