I love Japan. I came across a character in one of the manga I read. He wasn't a major character, so I got to wondering about his backstory. From there I built my own hero, quite different from the original except for being Japanese and living in a remote location. Creating my heroine, a British girl raised in Japan and speaking only Japanese, was considerably more difficult.
