Inspiration is everywhere. You need to train your powers of observation.
Overheard snippets of conversation, the odd picture a person makes when unawares.
Once I was following some gang members down the street trying to look as inconspicuous as I could manage ... hey they were huge brawny fellows and I didn't want to tangle with them.
Then one says in a loud booming voice, 'You've got balls man, going after the Judge's daughter!'
Wham! And there was a whole book ...

write. Sit at your computer and write .... even if you're writing gibberish ... it's easier to edit a page of words even random ones than a blank page.
