Hi Robert! Thanks for the kind words and the question. My latest series, Monsters of Jellyfish Beach, is a continuation of Freaky Florida, in the same world with the same (plus new) characters. It's told in the first-person POV (Missy's), so it has a slightly different feel than Freaky Florida, and it's more mystery focused, but in my mind it's the same series. "Monsters" begins with The Golden Ghouls, and Book 6, In Sprite of Herself, will come out in a few weeks. I hope this answered your question! Thanks, Ward

Sorry about that, Diane. I must have made a mistake when entering the info into Goodreads. It can be a little tricky (at least for me!). Thanks for pointing this out, and I'll try to fix it. I hope you check #1! Best, Ward

Hi Jazmine,
I've always enjoyed reading mystery novels as well at horror/paranormal/dark fantasy. Horror, in particular, appeals to me because it gives us a way to deal with our fears and taboos. I like the way that horror/dark fantasy stories often mimic the surrealistic way that our minds work when we're dreaming. I'm addicted to that tingle up your spine that scary things can give you--the same kind of tingling you get from a beautiful song or religious ecstasy. Totally different emotions, but all derived from a sense of wonder at the glimpse of something beyond than our comprehension.

The best way to deal with writer's block is to step away from the project and let your subconscious figure out the problem. Often the block comes when you take a wrong turn in your plot. So go for a walk or work on another project, then return to your blocked work and try to look at it from a fresher perspective.
