J.J. Green Hi Mark
There will be nine books in the Star Mage Saga. Book seven, Fatal Star, just went live. Galactic Rift will appear next year and then the series will finish with Never War in 2023.
Thanks for your interest.
J.J. Green Hi Kort Sorry for the late reply. I never seem to spot when I have a question. I haven't read either of those books though from what I hear about Cherryh I would love her writing. Would you recommend those books? What did you like about them?
J.J. Green Hi Brent

Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed Starbound. I've released three box sets of the Shadows of the Void series. Unfortunately Amazon's product page setup doesn't allow me to show them alongside the individual books. But you can search for them. They're called The Galathea Chronicles, The Earth Chronicles and The Galactic Chronicles. Put my name into the search bar too.
If you're patient and would like to read the entire series at once, I'll be releasing a 10-book box set later in 2018 on Kobo and via Payhip.
I love Jas' tenacity too. She needs plenty of it during the Shadows of the Void series.
J.J. Green I love Doctor Who, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the IT Crowd, and I think all three contributed ideas to my Carrie Hatchett series. I wondered what it would be like if a very ordinary, very fallible female character was thrown into exciting space adventures. How would she react? How would she cope with the challenges? What might she learn along the way?
J.J. Green See above. I don't wait for inspiration. I start writing first, then the inspiration often comes along.
J.J. Green I'm having a lot of fun writing my Carrie Hatchett Space Adventures. That poor woman, the things I put her through! But it's for her own good. I've just finished book three, and I'm planning book four.
J.J. Green I've belonged to a writers' group for many years, and in my experience of getting to know many aspiring writers, their greatest challenge is developing the discipline required to write regularly. Putting fingers to keyboard is a mountain that must be climbed every day, preferably. So I would say, don't agonise about what to write or whether your writing is good. Instead, focus on developing that discipline of writing regularly because without that, the rest is meaningless.
J.J. Green Connecting with readers is absolutely the best thing about being a writer. Hearing that someone read something you wrote and enjoyed it is the best feeling there is.
J.J. Green Jerry Seinfeld says there's no such thing as writer's block, and I think I understand him. Our brains have many ways of tricking us into procrastinating. It's my belief that writer's block is one of them. I don't allow myself the option of experiencing it. I don't wait until inspiration strikes, or I'm in the mood to write. Even if I have no idea what to write, I just start writing.
