The north Georgia mountains is a beautiful and unique setting and where my people are from going way back. I wanted to write about that place. I spent two years researching and writing another book about Kentuckians called THE COMMON WEALTH OF KENTUCKY PROJECT with my gifted artist friend, Kelly Brewer, and that project, in many ways, inspired the over-arching themes in BACK TO BLUE HOLLY.
