Robert Collins Get down a few story ideas before starting to write. Set a time to write, and a modest daily goal. After that, just write. Enjoy telling stories, and keep writing!
Robert Collins I have a schedule and a daily page count goal. I also try to have more than one project to work on at a time. All of these help to make certain that, if I get blocked on one project, I have something else to work on. I've had this routine for years, so that helps keep writer's block away. The more you get into the habit of writing, the more you tend to stick to writing, and the less of a chance there is of you getting blocked.
Robert Collins Right now I'm working on upcoming stories in my "Defender" series. I'm in the middle of writing one, and I need to get an outline for the one after that.
Beyond that, well, more outlines for new stories, I guess.
Robert Collins I stick to a schedule, and I plan my projects, even if it's just a few sentences. That way I always have something to work on and a goal to work towards. I don't have to wait for inspiration; it comes when it's time to write.
