When I was very young my brother was digging in the backyard in Washington state. He found an authentic Roman coin and showed it to me. I think that could be a plot for a historical mystery novel. Explaining how the coin got there and the adventures behind its journey.

Honestly, my mother was murdered and I was about to write her life story and I couldn't do it, so I started a romantic comedy that made me laugh and ultimately helped me heal. Writing has been the escape I needed to get through a lot in my life.

Never give up on your dream of your novel. If you can't get it published through a publisher, publish it yourself through KDP on Amazon. I had three small publishers at one time and they went bankrupt, closed, or I simply didn't see the sales. Now, I see everything, make my own covers through Canva.com and have someone who loves my books edit them. It can be done and you can do it! Also, keep writing! Don't stop and get discouraged. Finish the book and keep writing more.

Being able to use your imagination to create love, suspense, or whatever I'm writing. I'm in control of the story and I write happy endings because so often in life, we don't get those. I also like when I hold the next book in my hands and say to myself, "I made this."
