Christie Gordon Hi Maria,
You should have gotten the ARC via BookFunnel. My PA sent out emails for opt in/opt out for it. Are you in my Facebook group for the ARC team? If not, you should probably join that as well and we can help you to get the book. Please email me at: christie@christiegordon.com
Christie Gordon Hi Lynne,
Not Alone was already released a few years ago and Loose Strings is the sequel to that. If you’d like to read Not Alone first, you can pick it up from my publisher’s website for $2.75 right now: https://www.extasybooks.com/Not-Alone. It’s also available on Amazon, but since it’s with a publisher, it’s not in KU. Also, you can email me at christie@christiegordon.com and we can work something else out:)
Christie Gordon If you saw my work-from-home office, with it’s three bass guitars hanging on the wall, one acoustic guitar in a stand in the corner, cables, practice amps and boards, then you’d know. I’ll have to write a blog and share a picture when the book comes out, I suppose.
Christie Gordon Truthfully, I stumbled upon Full Metal Alchemist fan fiction and thought to myself, “I can do this...” It all started there.
Christie Gordon I’m getting ready to release two books, one is a simple love story set in my native Arizona and the other is a rock star, love-at-first-sight story. The latter takes place in Pacifica, California, where I lived for about 5 years. I tried to capture the real life of an up-and-coming band. My current partner of 12 years lived that life, so I had some easy access to information and he loves talking about it... I also am plotting (as much as I do plotting) another book that takes place here in my little town.,
Christie Gordon Keep writing and please, please, please...show don’t tell. There’s nothing that turns me off more from a book than writing that’s a long litany of pontification. If you have something to say, say it through the character’s words, actions and thoughts.
Christie Gordon Getting away from my current world. It also lets me work out things that have happened in my life through my characters. I’ve been through a lot and many of these things end up being the things my characters experience. For instance, Secrets came about after dealing with the overdose of my ex-husband and years of sitting in Al Anon. So, I guess it’s the therapeutic value it gives me. Also, seeing people read my work and enjoying it is really special.
Christie Gordon Considering I’ve had a 6 year writer’s block and it took sitting at home in quarantine every day with Covid-19 to come out of it, I guess that’s how I deal with it. I just let it work itself out. Although, I think all the Thai BL dramas I’ve been watching (because I can’t go anywhere) has helped tremendously:)
Christie Gordon I’ve always loved the movie Avatar (not the Last Airbender, LOL). The visuals in that movie were stunning and I’d love to just go there and experience that world.
