Hi! I just read ''Snoops in the City''. It was a fine book, I liked it. I wonder, have you written other books with a character like Wade Morrison? I enjoyed his relationship with Loralei Palmer. Thanks.
Darlene Gardner So glad you enjoyed Snoops in the City and the romance between Wade and Lorelei. I've written three single-title romantic comedies, all with a primary romance and a secondary romance (like Wade and Lorelei's). The other two books are Bait & Switch and The Misconception. The secondary heroes in those books are perhaps a bit more alpha than Wade, but I think they're also fun. Thanks for the question!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Darlene Gardner I got the idea for the upcoming books featuring the matchmaking business from my sister. She's a private investigator but she's toying with the idea of becoming a matchmaker. After all, she's the perfect person to run background checks to reassure her clients that they're not getting set up with a crazy!

How do you get inspired to write?
Darlene Gardner By day dreaming. You might think I'm sitting in silence staring off into space, but I'm actually working.

What are you currently working on?
Darlene Gardner A romantic comedy trilogy about three brothers called The Bachelor Boys. They're all pro athletes, and their mother is a renowned expert on marriage and family who has a matchmaking business. She and her business are all about marriage, of course.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Darlene Gardner Never give up. Writing is hard. Getting published after you've written is harder. But you'll never achieve your goals if you don't pursue them and pursue them and pursue them.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Darlene Gardner Waking up and walking down the hall to your office. Also, wearing pajamas till noon if you like.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Darlene Gardner It's not an option! Some background. I used to write features and sports for daily newspapers. Reporters always have deadlines. Missing them isn't tolerated. It was great training for a novelist. Since I started writing for publishers, I don't think I've missed a deadline.

Darlene Gardner Yes, definitely! You can use the book cover. I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. I'm putting the finishing touches on the last volume in the serial
and will put it up on Amazon within the next few weeks.
