Where are my daughter's shoes? Seriously, why can we never find them?
Maybe I'd take in a nocturnal monster direction. A monster that lives under her bed goes out at night wearing her shoes and then forgets to take them off when they go to sleep in the morning.
Or maybe she hates the shoes and we could take it in a middle school bullying direction. Maybe her shoes have been the source of bullying so she hides them.
