Random memories, often from my childhood, can inspire me. The idea for the book I am currently working on came in a very indirect way from memories of summer camp. I sometimes remember these "snapshot" moments and then try to build a story around them.

I am currently working on another suspense novel/thriller about a teenager that goes missing from a sleepaway camp. Years later, her former best friend tries to get some closure on her disappearance and discovers many long hidden secrets along the way.

The idea for The Dark Place actually came from an urban legend which spread in the little town where I grew up. As an adult, I started to imagine the backstory to that urban legend and then eventually started creating characters which were part of that backstory in my head.
