Josh Hawk At the moment I am not sure I will get to anything new, though I have been spending an hour or so each night re-reading the Harry Potter series and I need to finish the Stephen King book my daughter got me for Christmas.
Josh Hawk The Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be my ideal spot! I would want to visit Hogwarts and hang out with the professors (especially professor Lupin!). I would also like to try Quidditch, though I'm not sure I would be very good at it.
Josh Hawk My most recent book, The Journal, was born out of a background gag in a YouTube video I made. I dressed up as the grim reaper and walked behind myself as I was talking in the video (I wanted to see if I could use video masking to put myself in multiple places at once). That gag grew into a multi-video series and eventually became my first novel.
Josh Hawk Any number of things can inspire my writing, but normally the short stories are inspired by my photographs, and I even wrote one based on a dream I had. The longer stories, like The Journal, are based on life experiences and just my general desire to create something special.
Josh Hawk I'm writing short stories weekly for YouTube, and those will be going into a compilation at some point, but there is also a second novel I am working on. I don't have a name for it yet, but it is going to be a fantasy novel of sorts. That's all I can say for now.
Josh Hawk Don't let anyone tell you that you can't be a writer. I've had plenty of people dismiss me for various dreams, including writing, and if I had listened to them I wouldn't have written my first book or any other stories.
Josh Hawk Being able to share the stories I have been building up in my head for years!
Josh Hawk Walk away for a bit and come back to it after thinking about what I want to write or even working on an entirely different project for a bit.
