The Child of Ra series was actually created because I wanted to make a web comic. I had written 6 books before, and I thought that making a web comic would be a great way to get my stories out there into the world (even though I didn't know how to draw at the time LOL), so I wanted to create a story that was a little more action-based than what I had written prior. I knew I wanted to have amulets that had powers from the gods and I've always loved ancient Egypt so I thought it would be cool to combine the two. I still didn't have any more of a story idea than that (didn't even know who the characters would be) until I started picking out which gods I was going to feature. Then, literally like a flash of light, the entire trilogy popped into my head.

I tend to go outside and hike. I find that writer's block usually happens when I'm putting too much pressure on a section being "perfect", so a walk helps distract me. Plus, being out in nature is always inspiring to me :)
