For A Wallpad ORANGE I noticed English was getting dumbed down as a consequence of the internet and social media. In tandem ultra right-wing autocratic ideas and forces were on the increase. So I took that to its ultimate dystopian conclusion.

I don't really get inspired. I just think of a scenario and fill it in and expand on it to its unnatural conclusion.

I'm marketing and promoting right now and will be busy for the rest of the year trying to get my self-publishing career going. I've written quite a lot of publishable material so I could concentrate on selling it.

I don't get writer's block. If I need a solution to get through a story I simply turn to the fundamentals of story. Such as, Save the Cat, Heroes Journey, 3 Act, 9 Act, etc. This is very rare for me to use though. I do get bored though, sometimes. If the story is making me bored, I will scrap it completely and just do another one. Something like that . . .

I answered this through one of my novels, titled Full Circle. My characters "travelled" to some of my favourite books and altered the endings. Tunnel Under the World, Pohl and Flowers for Algernon, Daniel Keyes, for instance. I freed the characters of Pohl's fictional world. I saved Charlie from returning to his old self. It was great fun to write this particular novel (due to be published on KDP on MARCH 5, 2024).
