I either write or I don't write. "Writer's block" is, to me, the choice not to write, which I sometimes make for a variety of reasons, some not very good ones. If I want to overcome writer's block, therefore, I just write. If I don't just write, I didn't really want to overcome writer's block.

Clearly, I'd travel to Calambria (the ancient-Greek-like fictional world of my novel, "A Conspiracy of Wizards"). I'm too old to follow in Algonion's footsteps, but I would at least visit Evenstar and, probably, become involved in the politics of the city-state of Boalus.

I'm currently reading "Upheaval" by Jarred Diamond. I was reading "East of Eden" (Steinbeck) with my daughter earlier in the summer, but she was busy with more summer homework and reading (for her IB program) than she anticipated, so we're saving the rest for Christmas break. I read "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari earlier in the summer. It was mostly a nonfiction summer. (Both "Sapiens" and "Upheaval" are great books, "Sapiens" one of the best nonfiction books I've ever read.)
