My most recent book was Perfect: Don Larsen's Miraculous World Series Game and the Men Who Made It Happen. I attended a Yankee Fantasy Baseball camp on two occasions. Don Larsen was there, and he always spoke about his perfect game in the 1956 World Series between the Yankees and the Dodgers -- the only no-hit game in World Series history. I was thinking about it one day at the beach, and it dawned on me that most people -- including baseball fans -- knew very little about a lot of the players who played in that game, including Dale Mitchell, the Dodger pinch-hitter who struck out for the last out. And so it seemed to me that it would be useful (and fun for me) to write a book that would integrate profiles of the players who were on the field with the details of how the game unfolded.
