Writers block is normal for me so I walk away from the computer and go for a walk or watch a movie. Movies will sometimes trigger what you were stuck on. I also will grab a novel from one of my favorite authors and read and out of nowhere the writers block is cleared. Relax the brain.

The best thing for me in being a writer is the freedom to write what ever you so desire as long as you don't criticize anyone personally. I write strictly fiction and can release my frustrations in various avenues we face today.

I believe most fiction writers have to have an imagination or they will struggle trying to put a story together. I have an imagination that runs full throttle most of the time.

When I was in my late twenties I set three goals for myself. Drive the Alaska Highway, Travel to New Zealand and Australia, and write a novel. I was close to retirement before I began but never lost the desire. I have accomplished all three goals.

Stay the course and never give up. I am a part time writer so I don't write for hours at a time. A idea may pop into my head at 0300 while sleeping. I go write it down so I don't forget it. When I'm stuck on writing a certain chapter I walk away and then return maybe a day or two later and finish the chapter with ease.
