I don't wait for inspiration to strike in order to write. Writing is my career and passion, so I know I must do it every day. When I'm inspired the words just flow from my fingertips. When I'm not, it might take an entire day to write two pages. Music, a new idea, a pretty picture, an overheard conversation, meeting a new person... LIFE inspires me :)

I always wanted to write a sports book and I love baseball but wanted to find a different sport. I was eating at Hooters with my honey when the boxing weigh in flashed across the tv. Boxing! That's the sport.

Read a lot of fiction and study the craft by reading craft books, asking questions to fellow writers, and attending workshops. We are usually a friendly bunch and will help where we can.

Being a writer means going on new journeys with the characters all the time. I don't plot the books, so I never know where I'm going or will end up. Surprises makes me happy.

I try to figure out what is causing the writer's block. Is it because I'm working a lot? A day away from the house/computer usually refreshes my mind and creativity. If the block is caused by something emotional I'm going through, I will usually try to write a scene that requires similar emotions.
