I had the idea for Spy School for a long time, so Erica and her background were developed over many years of brainstorming. I always wanted the best student in Spy School to be a girl who was considerably better than anyone else there. Eventually, I came up with the reason why she would be so good -- that she's a legacy -- an then that helped me figure out what someone with her background might be like. The next book in the series, Spy School Goes east, will be out in October. You can find it on this site. And there will be another SS book next year.

There were lots and lots of books -- and authors -- who inspired me to write. Just a few: The Westing game by Ellen Raskin, the Encyclopedia Brown series by Donald J Sobol, anything by Roald Dhal or Shel Silverstein, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, anything by Carl Hiaasen or Michael Crichton.

Not sure what you mean by 'uncensored'. Are you asking if I could actually explain in detail exactly how Orion managed to take out all the world's power networks? Then anyone who wanted to do such a thing would be able to do it. So it would be unethical of me to print that.

Glad you have enjoyed my books! I have simply always been fascinated with spy stories -- and the idea that James Bond movies couldn't;t possibly be how the spy world really works. As for my target age group, I started writing the books when my kids were very young and I wanted to write something for them. They've aged out, but I still love writing for kids that age. They're such great, enthusiastic readers.

My Charlie Thorne series is in third person but shifts perspective throughout.

It is up to my publisher when -- if ever -- there will be a FJGN. Right now, there are not plans for that. And while I appreciate your enthusiasm, I don;t come up with the title first and then write the book. I write the book and then come up with the title.
