Dee R. Edgeworth While doing my research on civic virtue demonstrated by our American Founders I also found inspiring examples of Americans from the 19th and 20th centuries who demonstrated high standards. I plan to write a sequel to this book highlighting the men and women from these time periods who demonstrated civic virtue and the lessons we can learn from them.
Dee R. Edgeworth I was living in Washington DC working for the Department of Justice doing research at the Library of Congress Jefferson reading room and thought about the lack of honesty and civility in our society. I remembered some inspiring examples from the lives of Washington, John and Abigail Adams, Benjamin Franklin and others and was impressed by their of commitment to high standards of civic virtue. I was saddened that my children and grandchildren were not familiar with these uplifting events and determined that I wanted to record them along with lessons that we learn from our American Founders that we can apply today.
