I wanted to write another zombie novel. I was inspired by fantasy novels with different kingdoms vying for power. The book is set in post-apocalypse America, but I liked the idea of these different territories battling the zombies and each other.

I don't really get writer's block. For someone struggling with it, just write one sentence, then another. Build it into a scene or chapter. Ask yourself what your characters want. Who or what is opposing them? What happens next? How can I make things worse for the character? These questions can get things going again.
