When is your book coming to Canada?
Simon Toyne The Searcher will be out in Canada on October 6th. But you can read the opening chapters here.

Hi Simon, I've downloaded and thoroughly enjoyed the sampler for Solomon Creed. Now this has an an expected publication date of 10th of October, I've just noticed that The Searcher is due to be published on the 6th of October and is also a Solomon Creed novel. I'm confused is there one or two Solomon Creed books being published at roughly the same time?
Simon Toyne Very glad you enjoyed the sampler and apologies for the confusion. To clarify, Solomon Creed and The Searcher are the same book - Solomon Creed is the UK title and comes out in September, The Searcher is the US and Canadian title and comes out in October. So don't buy the same book twice. Hope you enjoy it when you read it, whatever title you pick. :)

Simon what inspired you to write Sanctus?
Simon Toyne It was a combination of the quote at the beginning of the book - "A man is a god in ruins' - which I'd carried around for years and the sight of Rouen cathedral at dawn. The play on words of Ruin and Rouen struck me and the two seemed to spark off each other and I started to think about a place called Ruin.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Simon Toyne Working for myself and owning the products of my imagination (and being able to tell my boss he's an asshole and knowing he can't fire me.)

Simon Toyne By looking at the face of my children and knowing that if I don't write something they'll go hungry and blame me.

Simon Toyne Book 2 of the Solomon Creed series.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Simon Toyne I always seem to get my best ideas when I'm in the middle of writing a book. The idea for 'Solomon Creed/The Searcher' came to me while I was halfway through the first draft of 'The Key'. I had to finish that and write 'The Tower' before I could start work on it.
