Oh gosh, my reading list is so long I don't have anything specifically picked out for summer. I just finished Butterfly Red Sky by Aubrey Moore and I'm thinking of working my way through the Kusunoki Chronicles by Kenneth Jorgenson next since the last book in the series will be out soon. Otherwise I'm just going to pick whatever catches my attention from my backlog.

I'd say it's less inspired and more of a driving need to write...
I pull ideas from everywhere. If I get a concept that I really like, I jot it down and eventually I'll get back to it. Though some of my not-quite-awake notes honestly make no sense to me - I need to get better about those.

I'm going to split this answer between Twisted Magics and the upcoming Shattered Illusions.
For Twisted Magics, I had been working on this world that never quite took form and I decided to toy with following a different character and going further back in the timeline. Then I had this disaster of a story, but there was something in that mess I eventually pulled out.
Shattered Illusions... I had started working on a side project to get some of Ketayl's past set down. After that it got a little weird and I might have had too much chocolate.

For me it's being taken on an adventure with my characters. So often they will surprise me and I hope that journey is also there for my readers.

I work on something else. Especially with Terra Chronicles, since I follow only one character, I will follow a different character away from my main and see what he or she does. It helps to fill in the gaps for me and bring more to the story I'm working on even if barely gets mentioned.

Just sit down and write. Honestly, I've done so many projects that have only ended up collecting digital dust, but they aren't waste - I've learned from them and I've been able to revive some of them as I continue to learn and grow.

At the moment, I'm working on the final edits for the next book (#2) in the Terra Chronicles series and then I'll be back to book #3. Summer is coming fast and I can't wait to announce when Shattered Illusions will be released!
