I served in Vietnam and worked on cattle ranches in Arizona and Texas. These were the inspiration for the characters and the setting. The story just sort of grew on its own.

I am currently working on a book set in Alaska during the oil boom of the early 1970s. It is still in its infancy but will likely be a sequel to "Comes a Red Horse".
