Sara Hurst Find your people. Your tribe. Authors who write in similar genres with varying experience. Being an author, especially an indie author, where it's all on you, is hard. You are the product, the creator, the marketing director, the executive assistant, the business manager...you get the picture. Knowing what, when, why, how, and who is key. Surrounding yourself with people in your genre/subgenre who are at the same stage as you, but also with those who have experience doing all the things, will give you access to a knowledge bank to help lighten the road. That means, your tribe will change and grow and evolve as you change, grow, and evolve, and that's okay. Stay fluid, stay informed, and always, always be willing to learn because the day we quit learning is the day we stop growing.
Sara Hurst The second book in my Love & Survival series. It's called Finding Our Way. The first book is Finding Each Other and is for sale on Amazon with 5-star reviews.
Sara Hurst Music helps a lot if I'm having trouble. If I'm working on a WIP and I'm trying to find my groove, I create a playlist of songs that give me the feeling that I'd trying to convey. Sooner or later, the words start flowing.
Sara Hurst The story popped into my head. Most things I write start as dialogue that comes to me at the strangest times—the shower seems to be the most prevalent.
