Michelle Schad I'm a rather boring person, to be honest. My biggest mysteries are 'where are my glasses' and 'did I pull out dinner'. BUT...
I could see making a wonderful mystery based on the auto-immune diseases I have. Could you imagine if something like that, things that aren't always easy to diagnose or -see- are being caused by something?? What a mystery that would be to solve! How would it be solved? How would they even know? The possibilities are endless.
Michelle Schad If I could go to any fictional book world, I think I would have to go to the world created by Jayme Bean in Untouched. I was so enraptured by what could be even if the 'world' was still Earth, what she presented as a potential in the deep jungles where no one has been was fascinating and dangerous and brilliant. I would step into that world and explore it in a heartbeat (cautiously, obviously).
Michelle Schad Keep writing. Some will tell you to quit if you don't find that niche, that thing that brings in the bucks. Writers don't write for money. We write because we need to, it is a compulsion to put on paper what we see in our minds. So, keep writing. If something doesn't work, do something else, try something new, switch genres, voices, perspectives, but whatever you do, keep writing. Eventually, you'll find your sweet spot and everything else will fall into place.
Michelle Schad Working in my pajamas. :-D
Michelle Schad Honestly? Smut. I either read it, or write a little bit of it and it clears away the writer's block. Doesn't take much either, just a chapter or paragraph and I'm good to go.
Michelle Schad Currently working on the sequel to Hellfire and a short story submission for Corrugated Sky Publishing's next anthology series. As it is also April, I am writing for CampNaNoWriMo as well.
Michelle Schad Inspiration varies from day to day. Sometimes it is something I see on TV, other times it is a song I hear or a picture I've seen. Other times, my kids do something so wild that it just has to be written down. Inspiration is everywhere, so I look for it wherever I happen to be and always carry a notebook for when that moment strikes.
Michelle Schad It originally happened as a writing prompt to help clear my head. I used a character that I've played in a superhero RPG run by a dear friend. The writing prompt started as just a few paragraphs then ballooned into a short story. Another friend read it and set a challenge that I expand on it - so I did. I love comics and action movies, so writing this was incredibly fun to do.
