Maureen L. Bonatch I have many favorite couples, so I'll share my first, Romeo & Juliet. They made me fall in love with romance.
Maureen L. Bonatch When I'm writing, I am content with the world. It is quite satisfying to bring the characters to life and tell their stories. There are frustrations, but most of them are due to only having 24 hours in a day and so many more stories I want to write. Thank you for the question, Brian!
Maureen L. Bonatch I used to say I wrote because I could tell my characters what to do and they'd listen. I've since discovered time and time again that I may try to tell my characters what to do...but they don't always listen. Although I can say that I can't find any greater joy than the escape from the stressors of the everyday world into one that I create.
Maureen L. Bonatch I'm always thinking of what I want to write, but habits and routine get me going. If I'm in the middle of a story I try to stop writing before the scene is done or leave notes to start a new one so I can jump right in.
Maureen L. Bonatch It's unusual for me to get writer's block. For the most part, I'm trying to find the time to get all the words on the page. But when I do get to a point that I'm struggling to get into the story, the most effective thing I've found to release the characters is to get my hubby to take me for a ride on his motorcycle. As I watch the scenery fly by the story rushes to unfold.
Maureen L. Bonatch Take as many classes as you can, write and read often. When I decided to get serious about writing I thought I knew all I needed to know to put the pen to paper (or fingers to the keyboard). I was amazed at how much there was to learn and how supportive your fellow authors are.
