I allow myself space from my writing. We live in such a face-paced world. One in which encourages burnout for the sake of production. Yet, we often suffer at the hands of what used to bring us joy because of that. Writers block is normal, burnout is not. Allow yourself the space and time to prevent the latter when the former finds its way to you. Read a book, get a coffee, put your toes in some sand. Take a day, a week, a month, or more away from your writing. Do what you need to do to make sure you do not forget your joy, because that is when you stop producing something great, and start producing something forced.

Creating something you feel proud of, for sure. There is so much validation in loving what you make, and writing is especially beautiful because stories truly are forever. They do not fade or break or cease to exist. What you make might find it's way to someone fifty years from now, and to them it will be new and beautiful, just as you viewed it on day one!

Inspiration for me usually comes in the form of daydreams and single lines. I am a sporadic writer, and sometimes I will write scenes that are at the ending of the book despite having only written a few chapters. I have an entire folder of notes in my phone that have scenes and concepts and dialogue that come to me randomly. It inspires me to keep going and to fight my way through the hard parts to get to those beautiful moments I picture!
