Christa Paige Hi there Mamacita. Glad you asked. Mated in Treason is the first in the series in the expanded Kan Asma world. So, there are some callbacks to a couple things that happened in the stand alone erotica titles that are no longer for sale but they shouldn't impact the plot at all because Mated in Treason is completely different in tone and story. The erotica titles were self-contained instances of a matings with no Faction conflict or broader plot lines. Does that help? (I'm going to be rereleasing the stand alone titles in the coming year, though.)
Christa Paige This is such a fun question. I would totally dive head first into Middle Earth and hopefully land in Imladris and have dinner at the Last Homely House. From there, I'd tour the stables with Glorfindel and listen to the Elvish harps out on the veranda by the waterfall.
If there was a quest, led by a certain grungy-looking ranger who is really a king and I might have to volunteer to go along as a cook or something. If not, I'd find the twins and ask them to take me to Rohan where I would learn to sword fight with the Daughter of Kings. I'd probably never come home.
Christa Paige Oh boy. Keeping a writer's schedule has helped me so much. Also, having accountability to other authors who can cheer you on as you attempt word count goals, helps too. Really though, sometimes you need a break, so take it!
Christa Paige The characters living in my head. Especially Mikhail.
Christa Paige Practice, practice, practice....truly, it's about getting words on the page, tweaking those words and polishing them over and over. If you have a story to tell, that's the first step. I also think it's great to read genres/tropes/books that are appealing to you and while you are reading, look at how the author crafts the story. You can learn a lot from the authors who have gone before you. Don't go it alone, either. Find friends, a writer's group, join RWA if you're in romance, because there is so much to learn and people are always there willing to encourage you through the process.
Christa Paige Enduring Bond, Allies of the Kan Asma Vampires serial episode 1 which will be offered exclusively to newsletter subscribers and it's the first time we will see the vampires being held in captivity in the Kan Asma's old village. And, Book 2 in the Kan Asma Vampire series is done but in revisions. I am also working on a contemporary series called Women Who Serve about the heroines of law enforcement.
Christa Paige Life in general. I love to write things that readers can relate to from favorite foods to eighteen hour support lingerie. It's just those little things that I see or experience that I think would make for a good scene or a fun exchange. Music is my stand by though. Hair Nation is my favorite station.
Christa Paige At the end of the Blood-Vine trilogy, one of the characters is injured and I always wanted to write what happened to him after he's found. Gunnar has always been an endearing character for me. He's not the rich billionaire vampire lord, but he works for one of the princes. Nadia is not the beauty of the vampire high-society, she's actually their nurse and she has callouses on her heels and doesn't wear a size 4. They can fall in love but they can't do a darned thing about it. This story is how they find a way to their HEA.
