1) I'm always thrilled to hear back from readers that they enjoyed my boos, or that they were moved by what they read, or were surprised at what I included in the book they've read.
Wish Bombs , Baking Spells and Recipes was not even on my radar until readers started asking for the recipes I mentioned in The Omnibus: Maggie McCready's Travelling Tarot Adventures ... and it became clear thata book coving all of those recipes was wanted by my readers!
2) This absolutely depends on the author's skills set but I think most authors would say they need help with marketing their book. Getting it in front of the eyes of your readers and hopefully having them review your book so that other readers may consider it. That's the real challenge of being a self-published author.

I find ideas all around me, but the idea for my book - The Angel Tea House came from one of my clients who commented on the length of time I have been reading for clients and where have I read for others.
Then I got to thinking I could write a story of a travelling tarot reader's adventures.
Well of course, I asked my Archangels and guides what they thought, and they said "Yes! Let's do it!"
Before I could even think about wanting to do it, I started getting messages from Archangel Michael about what he'd like to see in the book... and now we have it... The Angel Tea House, the first in a multiple book series about Spirit, Angels, Tarot, the fight between the light and dark forces, demons and of course Maggie and her Spirit Crew and how they come to be in Angel St!
It' been an eventful journey!

I never knew I wanted to write until I hit my 40th birthday and then like an epiphany I decided I was going to be a successfully published author! I was an avid reader though from the age of four. But as soon as I decided to write its like I saw ideas everywhere.
My favourite place is with a fountain pen, an A4 empty journal and a cup of chai tea, writing my next pages.

A series called the Maggie McCready Travelling Tarot Adventures. I'm about half way through Book #2 -The Pilgrims' Way Cafe.
The first book in the series - The Angel Tea House - is due out 10 July 2023 in e-book, paperback and audio.
I'm also working with a joint US-UK production house to bring The Angel Tea House to the TV/streaming market - very exciting... but such a lot of work to do on this project. I'll keep you posted!

1) Short answer - don't give up!
2) If you really want it keep going until your manuscript sees the light of day. My short story collection - A Tipsy Man Goes Naked (as in the idea and first few stories) was rejected. It took twenty years and a change in how readers read short stories to find my audience for my book. Now the others I have in the series can be told too!
Believe in your writing - its essential because there are many who will let you know they don't think you're good enough. If they're offering constructive criticism take, otherwise say "thankyou" and move on!
