If I'm blocked in a story I try to leave it alone for a while. I'll get outside for walks or head out on drives and just try to think about anything except writing. Eventually, I'm pulled back to the page.

Every day little moments in life inspire me to write. A too long wait at the grocery store has me building stories about the others in line. Someone cuts me off in traffic and it's a great inspiration for murder.

Years ago I saw someone selling dowsing rods on ebay. I ordered them out of curiosity. Soon the idea of finding bodies, rather than water, started playing in my head giving me the idea for A GRAVE CALLING.
