Bryan Beaunoyer Well, the first story is a complete revamping of a story I wrote back in 1992, as a twelve year old boy. It was a simple story about a knight saving a princess from a dragon (which, it is definitely not, now). Fast forward thirty plus years, and you have that story retold. Book Two was me deciding that these characters were worth exploring further and I'm sure the readers are not only going to fall in love even more with the characters they are already familiar with, but also with the characters we haven't yet explored- like Princess Violet, for example. She actually has a very prominent role in Book Two. I'm actually very excited for my readers to get to know her better.
Bryan Beaunoyer The main character of my book series, Sir Gilderlilly, has been in my life for well over thirty years. I created him at the age of twelve, and his story, as well as his appearance, has changed quite a lot over the years. I like to think that this series is my "definitive" version of Sir Gilderlilly's life and adventures. So, he's been living rent-free in my head for a very long time... and I felt it was time he at least earned his keep. But, I am just so happy that I am able to get his story out there for young readers, and I am hopeful that he can be an inspiration for kids both, young and old.
Bryan Beaunoyer I'm about six chapters or so into Book Two odf the Welcome to Wendtmurhoefen series. I honestly don't know how many books I'm going to do, just yet, or even how many chapters this next one is going to have (or even pages, for that matter). But, it's coming along. Admittedly, I'm really having to build up the plot and narrative in this story, as it's more "family-centric" (meaning I'm telling more about the main characters' family lives) than the last one. But, you'll get to meet some new and interesting, if not downright exciting, characters this time around!
Bryan Beaunoyer Don't be afraid to write exactly what is in your head when you're thinking it. Just write it down, and worry about the editing or changes later. Get the idea out of your head while it's still fresh and you can revisit it at any time. Trust me... my book had several edits over the course of the publishing process because of little changes I had decided to make on my own. This method even helped me realize plot holes and things that didn't make sense, and even- at one point- that one paragraph actually needed to go back and be placed dozens of pages prior to where I had originally put it. And, I'm glad I made that change because it made the flow of the story more natural.
Bryan Beaunoyer Well, that's the thing, isn't it? I'm no writer by profession. Not even in the slightest. If I relied on royalties from book sales for a living, I'd be destitute, quite honestly. But, being a writer, in my heart and in my mind, brings an ease to my soul that I thought I lost a long time ago. I've given away enough copies of my book, by now, that I can honestly say that my writing is not about the money- but rather, the peace that comes with getting the story out of my head and onto paper. And I am so very humbled by the praise and kind words my book is receiving among readers.
Bryan Beaunoyer It depends, really. I have several hobbies that help jog my imagination. I enjoy video games and movies, but I also draw a lot. Drawing, in particular, tends to get the creative juices flowing again.
Bryan Beaunoyer I was standing amongst the crowd, minding my own. It was then that I realized, that was not a fart, and the looks from the crowd were more than warranted.
Bryan Beaunoyer Well, despite Wendtmurhoefen being a really cool place that I'd like to visit, my heart has always had a home in Middle Earth. Particularly, the Shire. I would love to just hang out with the Hobbits and eat wonderful foods and drink up an ale with them (just one, though. I'm not much of a drinker) at the Green Dragon.
Bryan Beaunoyer I haven't thought that far ahead, honestly, but I have a few my wife bought me that I intend to either finish up or start.
Bryan Beaunoyer "Now, where did I put that? I just had it here!" - Me, about- literally- anything I had in my hands five minutes ago when I'm working on something important.
