I walk my best friend - my German Shepherd, quite often when it's dark out. We typically walk down the hiking trails - which are safe - but very spooky in the dark. It's quiet, and no one is out at this time... It's our time. I kept thinking as I walked past the tall fences of the beautiful homes there - "What would I do if I heard a scream?". Then I let the thought develop - and with my Shepherd by my side - I let my imagination go wild... "What could cause the scream?" Then I went off the deep end - and thought; Undead! How fun would that be to write. So I did :)

I guess I haven't really experienced it yet. I'm a new novel writer, and when I feel it - when I really want to write, I mean, I just sit at my keyboard and the story comes out... sometimes its really good, but sometimes it's really bad :). But I write... Then later - once my draft is down, I try to pull out or re-write the bad. My mind moves faster than my fingers most of the time - so writing is not a mountain for me to climb, but rather a sky full of stars for me to get lost in and pull from.

The knowledge that I've earned someone's precious time - to take them to worlds that I've created - to love characters that are part of me - to hear that they've enjoyed my story. This is so overwhelming when you think about how powerful it is and it truly moves me.

Just Write! Don't let anyone tell you that you cannot do this. Tell your story - and let it flow. It's beautiful and unique - share it :)

It's a feeling really. I love that I am able to write something that others will take their precious time to read and fall into my stories so deeply that they cannot stop reading. That is magic - and it affects me so deeply. I love that I can reach into someone's heart - into their imagination - and to take them to a place that otherwise they would never go. Every story is unique that way.
