not so much a question but a sharing; i studied hula under Auntie Nona Beamer when i first got to Hi in 1969 and while i attended UH Manoa to get mu MA in Dance Ethnology i also worked for her at bishop Hall; Reading your book now VOICES OF WISDOM, i just learned new things about Nona and others i knew what caused her sons to split up so we never hear of Kapono only Keola? mahalo nui loa

M.J. Harden Aloha Pumehana: I'm happy you liked my book. Thank you for your comment. These are important Hawaiians I interviewed, and it was an honor to know them. Nona did explain what happened to her sons' musical duo, but I don't remember the details . . . just that they no longer enjoyed playing together and that they were very different in personality.
