April, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that "Stars" supports you in your grieving process. To answer your question, I have never had to experience a trauma of this depth myself. In my role as a pastor I have, however, walked with families on their journeys through grief. It's those experiences that helped me to write about Catherine and Nathan's responses to their own trauma. Please let me know what you think of the book once you've finished reading it.
