Bob Doerr A few years ago, I was awakened at 1 AM by my doorbell ringing. When I answered my door there was no one there, but an injured baby got was laying on a towel on my door step. We live no where near a goat farm and there was no message with the baby goat. I called the police and they took the baby goat to a vet and that was the last that I heard of it. I know the mafia use to leave a horse's head as a warning or threat, but a baby goat????
Bob Doerr Holmes and Watson but Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin come in at a close second.
Bob Doerr I wanted to write a mystery that incorporated the Lodge at Cloudcroft and some of the Ghost Towns in New Mexico. The good guys and bad guys come easily.
Bob Doerr It's more like an addiction for me rather than a need for any inspiration. My head is cluttered with ideas, I just need more time to get them onto paper.
Bob Doerr My seventh Jim West mystery/thriller
Bob Doerr Don't give up on yourself. Keep writing, get your work critiqued, learn, and keep writing.
Bob Doerr The freedom to tell stories.
Bob Doerr I have yet to experience real writer's block. I enjoy writing, and when I get to a spot where I have some difficulty deciding what to write next, after a few minutes of pondering, I start writing one of my options I've considered. If I don't like it, I'll go back and rewrite it. It has never taken me more than three rewrites of a particular section of my story to get to where I'm happy with it.
