Hi, Elizabeth. So glad I found you! I looked at your spiritual memoir list (and what a great one it is) for a comp title in preparing my debut book (I'm a journalist by trade - memoir is such a different animal that I feel like I've had to learn how to write all over again). An agent says I need a recent comp title that was written for the general market and is subtle with the Christian faith. Any recommendations?
Elizabeth Jarrett Andrew Congrats on the memoir! So exciting. Not sure what you mean by "subtle." Meaning it's not overtly addressed? Or is it culturally portrayed as an element of the story (a la Alice McDermott)? Since I'm primarily interested in memoir that explores the spiritual/faith dimension overtly, nothing's coming to me. I'm interested, though. Let me know what you come up with.
